You Are a Talented Artist So Reject The Spirit Of Comparison

When you meet other artists and creatives, if you catch yourself comparing yourself to them and analyzing whether you are “better than them,” or whether they are “better than you,” then stop it! This will only either feed your pride or it will make you feel worthless. Reject comparing yourself to them.

Every creative is at a different point in the journey of developing their craft. When you meet someone further along the path than you are, be inspired. Let that inspiration motivate you forward. You can learn from them and you will be better for it. But the spirit of comparison will rob you of that blessing. It will stop you in your tracks and stunt your growth. It will make you feel horrible, anxious, and worried.

On the flip side of the issue, when you meet a creative who is not as far along the path as you, remember where you used to be. Don’t let it give you a big head. Instead, encourage them. Offer to them the knowledge, wisdom, and keys that helped you get to where you are. As you generously and compassionately give like this, you will receive a blessing.

It is about “sowing and reaping.” As you sow into other artists, or writers, or musicians who are not as far along as you, you will release a momentum into the spiritual realm that will bring to you the blessing of help from those who are further along the journey than you are. It will also open up doors for you to opportunities which you wouldn’t have received any other way.

This lifestyle of generosity will create a future of abundance for you in numerous aspects and dimensions. Your choice to be generous like this will result in others being generous with you. But likewise, your choice to compare yourself to others and to be guarded and stingy with your knowledge will result in others being guarded and stingy with you. So reject the spirit of comparison and choose a bright future for yourself. It will bless you and it will bless others.

For a creative future!

When Bullies Start Attacking Your Art…

I watched it happen to two of my artist friends this week. A sixth grade girl named Suzy is growing in her love of drawing, and it is stirring up jealousy in one of her classmates who began lashing out and verbally tearing apart her work.

The other artist is a high school girl named Glory, who has an intense passion for animation. Glory is dedicated to her craft and is growing leaps and bounds in her skill. She will create an animation in an afternoon, throw it up on YouTube, and get 40,000 views. She is an amazing girl with a massive amount of raw talent!

But recently, Glory’s work is rousing a ton of jealousy, and the angry critics are coming out in hordes. They write hurtful things on her Facebook page and exert a lot of energy to express their disdain and disapproval of her work. The ridiculous thing about this is that the critics can’t produce a fraction of the talented work that Glory creates. They are jealous! They can’t stand it! They feel small inside. And the only way they think they can make themselves feel like a bigger person is to attack and tear down Glory and her work.

Glory is entering into her greatness. She has found her passion and is living in it. Every day she invests time into her talents and is becoming even better at what she does, one small step at a time.

So if you are taking a risk and putting your passion out into the world, and if the bullies have been attacking your art, be encouraged… you are entering into your greatness! It does not matter what other people think about your art. God gave you those artistic talents and he loves the creative works that come from your heart. And more good news is that he is giving you the power to become as skilled and talented as you want to be. He wants you to succeed and to become all that you were created to be. I want that for you as well.

Do you have a creative work that you would like to share? Feel free to post it on my Facebook wall. I would love to see it!: facebook.com/NathanFisherCreative

What Will You Do With What Is Available To You Now?

90% of the world’s data has been generated in the past two years. We have a striking advantage over those that lived 100 years ago. Some of the greatest creative breakthroughs in history were birthed with only a fraction of what is available to us today. Consider Henry Ford, the Wright Brothers, Walt Disney, Johann Sebastian Bach, and many more. People are a creative force anointed and gifted by God with or without technology or resources available to them.

I challenge you to think about the great things that have been designed, created, or innovated by men and woman who started with nothing but the shirt on their back and a few dollars in their pocket. What creative things exist inside of you that are waiting for you to bring them out? There are things deep inside you that may be the answer for some of the greatest problems the human race is facing today. I encourage you to bring them out. The world is waiting and the actions you take truly matter. Just imagine what you can do with the technology and information about to you now!

Did You Grow Up Building Legos?

It’s interesting how Legos have become so much more popular in the past couple of years then they were 30 years ago when I was playing them. They’ve become the model kits for this generation of kids. But what I enjoyed the most about Legos when I was a kid, was not the kits to build something specific. It was the kits full of miscellaneous pieces where I could build anything I could imagine NOT following the instructions!

Did you grow up building Legos? May your endeavors be blessed!

Going To Art School Doesn’t Make You An Artist

Going to art school doesn’t make you an artist anymore than going to a forest makes you a tree. Going through a prestigious art training program doesn’t make you artistic. Practicing your art does!!!

If you dream of becoming an arts professional, but are not motivated to do creative works right now, then ask God to put his creative fire within you now! He wants to do this for you. You only need to ask Him

If this is you, I have an encouraging word for you in my free ebook, “The Biggest Mistake Young Artists Make.” Grab your copy at
